Location Highlights:
East Upper Lake spans almost two thousand acres and has a maximum depth of 48 feet- making it one of Lake Minnetonka's largest bodies of water. East Upper Lake is south of Spring Park Bay and Carman Bay. The East Upper Lake homes are in Orono, Shorewood, Excelsior, and Tonka Bay. Residents are in the Minnetonka School District. Two residential points run through East Upper Lake- Howard Point in Shorewood and Locke Point in Excelsior.
Water Quality:
The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District gives East Upper Lake a B in water quality. The water is generally good, but algae may limit swimming towards the end of the summer.

Lake Access:
East Upper Lake has two marinas: Howards Point Marina and Upper Minnetonka Yacht Club, near its waters on South Upper Lake. Howards Point Marina is southwest of Howard Point. The marina offers boat rentals, dock slips, and off-season storage. Upper Minnetonka Yacht Club is located on Enchanted Island in Mound. The Upper Minnetonka Yacht Club offers sailing lessons and dock slips. East Upper Lake has no boat launches, but Spring Park Boat Launch is just one bay north.
Amenities:
Crescent Beach is a popular attraction in East Upper Lake. The beach offers a dock for swimmers and launches for kayaks and canoes. Crescent Beach is jointly owned and operated by the cities of Tonka Bay and Shorewood. They have stationed lifeguards on duty from 12-5 pm every day. Another attraction is Goose Island in Spring Park Bay- a small island with a public dock, sandy shoreline, and a sheltered cove for anchoring.
