MUNICIPAL BOAT SLIPS

The City of Mound operates the Mound Docks and Commons Program—the largest municipally owned dock program in Minnesota—allowing up to 637 boats annually to access Lake Minnetonka. This program provides Mound residents without direct lakeshore access the opportunity to enjoy the lake through 144 dock sites and 100 slip sites. While some of these sites are located near a resident’s private property, they are not transferable upon the sale of the home.

The City maintains a waiting list for dock and slip assignments. Applications are accepted only once per year, between January and February. Current dock or slip holders receive a renewal application packet at the end of each year. Non-lakeshore residents must submit their applications in person at City Hall or ensure they are postmarked through the U.S. Postal Service by the last day of February.
