Location Highlights:
Echo Bay is located between Lafayette Bay and North Lower Lake, in the cities of Tonka Bay and Orono. Homes on Echo Bay are located in the Minnetonka School District. Echo Bay is an active bay because it is just east of Big Island Back in 1906, Big Island was a 65 acre amusement park, drawing in crowds of 10,000 each weekend. Due to the high volume of tourists, one thousand passenger ferry boats transported visitors out of the city of Excelsior to the island. Big Island Amusement Park closed in 1911 and is now a nature park owned by the city of Orono. Big Island is still a tourist attraction today, hosting the biggest Lake Minnetonka boat party on the Fourth of July. Notable real estate on the bay is Sunrise Point

Water Quality:
The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District has given Echo Bay an A in water quality. The water is crystal clear, and the bay can be enjoyed by recreational users at any time of the year.

Lake Access:
Echo Bay is home to Caribbean Marina, Lindbo Landing Marina, and Tonka Bay MarinaThe Caribbean Marina is north of Sunrise Point and offers marine services, gas pumps, all-season boat storage, and even a dockside restaurant called the Tequila Butcher. The restaurant serves Mexican food on its patio Wednesday-Sunday. Lindobo Landing Marina is directly across from Big Island and their primary service is dock slip rentals. Lastly, the Tonka Bay Marina, is slightly north of the Caribbean where customers have access to the boat launch, dock slips, and gas pumps. 

Amenities:
The Wekota Park and Beach is located on West Point Road.  It has a walking trail, picnic tables, playground equipment, and tennis and basketball courts. Wekota Park and Beach is owned by the city of Tonka Bay and it has stationed lifeguards from 12-5 pm every day. Just south of Wekota Park and Beach is Sunrise Point, a Lake Minnetonka favorite to enjoy the sunrise over the horizon. The property on Sunrise Point is strictly residential and the homes have some of the best views of the lake.
