LOST LAKE BAY
Location Highlights:
Lost Lake Bay is a no-wake channel that connects Cooks Bay to downtown Mound. Lost Lake Bay is located in the city of Mound and is within the Mound Westonka School District. A notable development in the area is the townhomes on Lost Lake Court, which have pool access and boat slips on Lost Lake Bay. The bay also has public docks owned by the city of Mound. Lost Lake boat slips grant access to Mound's downtown and helps increase foot traffic to the local businesses in this area.
Water Quality:
Lost Lake Bay has an abundance of cattails and reeds, which work to keep Lake Minnetonka clean by filtering the surface runoff. The maximum depth in the bay is only 3 feet, and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District gives Lost Lake Bay a C in water quality.
Boating Restrictions:
No wake zone
Lake Access:
The city of Mound installed 14 public docks on the bay's north end. The docks are accessible to the public and close to the local restaurants.
Amenities:
The Lost Lake public docks grant access to the local businesses in this area. Most businesses are restaurants and eateries, including Lost Lake Creamery, Dakota Junction, and Hibachi Daruma.
