SPRING PARK BAY

DNR Lake ID: 27013300

Location Highlights:
Spring Park Bay is just between Black Lake and Carman Bay. The homes are in Orono, Spring Park, and Mound in the Mound Westonka School District. During the golden age of Lake Minnetonka tourism, Spring Park was home to the Hotel Del Otero. The Del Otero burnt down in 1945, and today is now the Mist Apartments on Lake Minnetonka. The Mist features waterfront access, a fitness center, and a residents' lounge. A notable neighborhood on the bay is Casco Point in Orono, Minnesota. Casco Point is a high-demand neighborhood on Lake Minnetonka, comprised of small lakeside cottages and large family homes.

Water Quality:
The maximum water depth of Spring Park Bay is 36 feet and has an A rating of water quality by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. Meaning the water is crystal clear and can be enjoyed recreationally year-round.

Boating Restrictions:
None

Lake Access:
The Spring Park Bay Boat Launch is located directly on Spring Park Bay and is just minutes from downtown. The public boat launch has free parking in an on-site lot, making transporting vessels in and out of the water effortless. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Water Patrol Headquarters is alongside the public boat access. The water patrol center has been located on Spring Park Bay since 1968, and the original building was torn down and replaced by the station we knew today in 1996.

Amenities:
Spring Park Bay is home to high-class dining at the restaurant Vann, which offers boat parking near the Spring Park Boat Launch. Vann holds only 48 seats, and customers are treated to an intimate meal with views overlooking Spring Park Bay. Nearby in Phelps Bay, boaters can pay a visit to Goose Island. The island is a local favorite spot to meet up with friends, and it features a public dock and a beautiful sandy beach. Goose Island is known for its beautiful sunsets, an excellent getaway for an evening to watch the sun as it sets westward over Phelps Bay.
