Location Highlights:
Halsted Bay is located on the western end of Lake Minnetonka and was one of the last bays to be developed residentially. The homes on the bay are in the city of Minnetrista and are located in the Mound Westonka School District. Notable neighborhoods on the bay include The Cove and Trillium Bay. Both developments offer lakeshore properties and deeded access to the residents. Halsted Bay is one of the largest bays on the lake, with over seven miles of shoreline and a max depth of 31 feet. It is a convenient spot for recreational water sports like water skiing, wake surfing, and wakeboarding.

Water Quality:
The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District assigns Halsted Bay a C in water quality, based on a scale from A-F. Halsted Bay is desirable for swimming and boating later in the season.

Lake Access:
Halsted Bay has one boat launch owned by the city of Minnetrista. The Halstead Bay boat launch is five minutes from downtown Mound. The launch has no on-site parking but offers free on-street parking along Halstead Drive. 

Amenities:
The shoreline of Halsted Bay is mainly residential, but nearby Cooks Bay, boaters have access to the public docks at Surfside Beach. Surfside Beach offers playgrounds, picnic tables, and barbeque grills. If you're looking for a bite to eat around Halsted Bay, Cooks Bay is home to Al & Almas Supper Club, which has boat parking and dockside takeout available to customers.
