Silver Lake

Surrounded by the cities of Shorewood, Minnetonka, and Chanhassen, Silver Lake is about half the size of its neighboring lake Christmas Lake. Unlike Christmas Lake, Silver Lake has no public access and limits boating traffic to nonmotorized watercraft. Silver Lake is part of the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District and is the only lake with wild rice growing in the lake, a very rare plant to find in metro area lakes. Surrounded by residential homes, this secluded private setting is an ideal place to observe nature.
