The history of Graham Hill dates back to 1858 when Minnesota became a state, and western Hennepin County was divided into townships. Graham Hill was initially located in Excelsior Township. By 1868 the townships were redivided, and the community became a part of Medina. It wasn’t until 1899 that the Township of Orono was created out of the southern half of Medina. The land on Graham Hill was previously a farm owned and operated by the Graham family. They farmed recreationally and didn’t take profits from their livestock and feed. It wasn’t until the 2000s that custom home developers began building on the land.
