What’s more “Bold North” then golfing on a frozen lake in the middle of winter? Thousands of golfers come out to celebrate our “chilly” season with an entire weekend packed with truly Minnesotan activities. In its 34th year, the Chilly Open has been raising money for the Chamber of Commerce and supporting many initiative for the organization. You can go to www.wayzatachamber.com to see what the Chamber has supported and contributed to over the years. This year’s theme, in celebration of the Super Bowl, is Minnesota Made.

Ice skating, featured movie on the big screen in the heated 19th hole tent (6 Smith Parking Lot), hot cocoa and treats, kicksled races, luminaries and more!  This is definitely fun for all ages!

Wayzata Bay

6Smith will have a Ice Bar open on Friday and Saturday night.  Make sure to stop by their Breakfast Buffet to fuel up before you tee off on Saturday morning from 9 AM - 12 PM.  Menu is on their website- link is above.

Pre-ticketed event (must pre-register)
Three 9-hole golf courses, over 1700 golfers dressed in their finest “Minnesota Made” themed gear, and golf played on the frozen lake with a tennis ball and either golf clubs or hockey sticks- your choice!  Grab your friends, co-workers, family members, strangers off the street- basically anyone you would like to dress silly and chase a tennis ball around on a 9-hole golf course.  Best part- no skill required!  Registration information and link is above. 
Chili Cook-Off & Live Music

19th Hole Tent (6Smith Parking Lot)
Over 15 local restaurants will battle it out for the prestigious title of Best Overall Chili, Spiciest and Golfer’s Choice.  This fun event is judged by local celebrities and enjoyed by all.  Live music will serenade you as you enjoy this fun competition.  This is a ticketed event, but all golfers have automatic access in to the tent.

Wrap up a fun weekend in the 19th Hole Tent with live music featuring Viva Knievel http://www.vivaknievelband.com/.  Doors open a 6:30 PM.  You can buy tickets in advance in the link above or at the door if still available.  $10 charge
